Since qualification as a Solicitor in 2005, Mark has specialised in transactional construction, and has accumulated a deep wealth of experience and tactical insight from acting for various parties commonly associated with the built environment, including developers, investors, funders, landlords, tenants, purchasers, and vendors.

Mark's approach is collaborate with the client and the professional team from the outset. This approach saves clients considerable time and money by getting the contractual aspect of the construction project set-up correctly from day one.

He frequently advises clients on construction procurement routes (such as Traditional; and Design and Build) and has extensive experience of negotiating and agreeing building contracts (including JCT and NEC standards), consultancy appointments, collateral warranties, performance bonds, parent company guarantees and other construction-related agreements, such as development agreements and agreements for lease.

He has applied his keen advisory skills to a variety of deals, including mixed-use developments, land sales and purchases, fit-outs and refurbishments, and commercial property investment. Mark acted on the construction aspects of Candy & Candy's One Hyde Park development; London & Regional’s £44m development at Park Royal in Northwest London; on various HQ office fit-outs including for Hachette, Atlas Copco, McArthur Glen, and Vistaprint; and continues to advise Astra Zeneca in connection with their new global R&D centre in Cambridge.

His time spent as in-house legal counsel with Lend Lease - working on projects, such as the Athletes’ Village, from a contractor's and consultant's perspectives - means that he fully appreciates the various competing interests: this knowledge is invaluable for cutting through and resolving issues fast.
